The Board of the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame was saddened to learn of the passing of fishing industry legend Bill Huntley, who was not just a member of the Board, but also a 2015 inductee. Throughout his nearly 90 years on Earth he established himself as a leader in the marine industry, constantly envisioning, designing, manufacturing and popularizing marine accessories that contributed to the enjoyment and safety of anglers everywhere. These include the Trim Handle and the Hot Foot foot throttle, both of which are synonymous with high performance bass boating. Many of these advances came from his ample time on the water, where he avidly and expertly chased bass, and notably loved the smallmouth of his native Tennessee.
He was a pioneer, an avid angler, and an outspoken advocate for the sport, and we will all miss him dearly.
