Terms of Use

Last Updated: October 30, 2026

Welcome to the website of the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame (“BFHOF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of bassfishinghof.com and any content, forms, and features offered on it (together, the “Site”).

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. Changes take effect when they are posted, and your continued use of the Site after that means you accept the revised Terms. Changes will not apply retroactively to a nomination or other submission made before the change was posted.

2. About the Site

The Site is provided for informational, educational, and historical purposes. It tells the story of the sport of bass fishing and the people inducted into the Hall of Fame, explains our awards and nomination process, and shares news about our organization.

Biographies, records, tournament results, dates, and other historical information on the Site are compiled from many sources, including nominations, inductees and their families, published accounts, and our own archives. We work to keep this information accurate, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, current, or free of errors. If you spot a mistake, please let us know using the contact details at the end of these Terms.

3. Who May Use the Site

The Site is intended for a general audience. You must be at least 13 years old to submit a nomination or any other information through the Site. If you are under 18, you may submit information only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

4. Our Content and Intellectual Property

The Site and its content, including text, biographies, photographs, graphics, logos, design, and the selection and arrangement of that content, are owned by BFHOF or by the people and organizations that have licensed it to us, and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other laws.

“Bass Fishing Hall of Fame,” “BFHOF,” our logos, and the names of our awards are trademarks of BFHOF. You may not use them in a way that suggests BFHOF sponsors, endorses, or is affiliated with you, your product, or your event without our prior written permission.

Many photographs on the Site were provided by inductees, their families, photographers, publications, and partners, and remain the property of their owners. Their appearance on the Site does not grant you any right to reuse them.

5. Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, you may view, download, and print pages from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use, such as research or sharing an inductee’s story with family and friends, provided you keep any copyright and other notices intact. You may link to any page of the Site and share those links on social media.

Any other use, including republishing, selling, licensing, or using Site content in commercial products, publications, broadcasts, or advertising, requires our prior written permission. Members of the media, researchers, and authors who would like to use content or photographs from the Site should contact us. Where we do not own the content, we will try to point you to the owner.

6. Nominations and Other Submissions

The Site allows you to nominate individuals for induction into the Hall of Fame and for our awards, and to send us information, photographs, and documents (together, “Submissions”). When you make a Submission, you agree that:

  • It is accurate. The information you provide is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you will not impersonate anyone or misrepresent your relationship to the nominee.
  • You have the right to share it. You own the photographs, documents, and text you submit, or you have permission from the owner to submit them and to grant the license below. You have a reasonable basis to share the personal information of the nominee and references with us for the purpose of the nomination.
  • You grant us a license. You grant BFHOF a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use, copy, store, edit, adapt, and share your Submission to review the nomination; and, if the nominee is inducted or honored, to publish the nominee’s biography, accomplishments, and submitted photographs on the Site, at induction ceremonies, in exhibits, news releases, newsletters, social media, and other materials that promote the Hall of Fame and its honorees. Where practical, we will credit photographers you identify. You keep ownership of your Submission.
  • It is not confidential. We handle the personal information in your Submission as described in our Privacy Policy, but we cannot treat the Submission itself as confidential, and you will not receive any compensation for it.
  • It is lawful. Your Submission does not contain anything that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, or unlawful, that infringes anyone’s rights, or that contains viruses or other harmful code.

We may edit, decline to use, or delete any Submission for any reason. We are not responsible for Submissions that are lost, incomplete, or delayed, including those that fail to arrive because of a technical problem.

7. The Selection Process

Submitting a nomination does not guarantee that it will be considered, accepted, or selected. Nominations are evaluated according to the eligibility requirements, deadlines, and procedures published on the Site and in our Bylaws, which we may change from time to time. All decisions about eligibility, induction, and awards are made by BFHOF in its sole discretion, are final, and are not subject to appeal. We are not obligated to explain why a nomination was or was not selected.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates any law or regulation, or infringes the rights of anyone else.
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or submit nominations in someone else’s name without their permission.
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful or disruptive code.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, our administrative areas, or any accounts, systems, or data connected to the Site.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site, including by overloading it with requests, or attempt to bypass any security or spam-prevention measure.
  • Use bots, scrapers, spiders, or other automated means to copy content from the Site in bulk, other than standard search engine indexing that follows our robots.txt file.
  • Use content from the Site to train, fine-tune, or build artificial intelligence or machine learning models without our prior written permission.
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other notice on the Site.
  • Use the Site to send spam or unsolicited messages, or to harass, threaten, or harm anyone, including our inductees, their families, or our staff and volunteers.

9. Third-Party Websites and Services

The Site contains links to websites and services we do not control, including Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, sponsors, news outlets, and social media platforms. These links are provided for your convenience. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, products, policies, or practices of those websites, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

10. Visiting the Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame exhibit is located inside Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium in Springfield, Missouri, which is operated by a separate organization. Admission, tickets, hours, accessibility, and visitor rules are set by Wonders of Wildlife, not by BFHOF. • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We will review every notice and remove or credit the material as appropriate. If a photograph of you or a family member appears on the Site and you would like it removed or credited differently, just contact us; no formal notice is needed.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ON IT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BFHOF DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR FREE OF ERRORS, VIRUSES, OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BFHOF AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, VOLUNTEERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT ON IT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THOSE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the limitations above may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BFHOF and its directors, officers, volunteers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your Submissions, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of anyone else’s rights.

15. Suspension of Access

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. We may also block or restrict your access to the Site, or reject your Submissions, if we believe you have violated these Terms. Sections 4, 6, and 11 through 17 continue to apply after your use of the Site ends.

16. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Site are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any such dispute will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Pulaski County, Arkansas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

17. General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and BFHOF about the Site.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a successor organization.
  • Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect the meaning of these Terms.
